I'm a Favre fan and I'll go ahead and say I believe Favre was sick of TT's philosophy and wanted out. I have no problem with that, and at the end of the day, everyone got what they wanted. It's just working out better for Favre than TT right now. The Favre saga is not the demise of TT as much as the other failures. For example, the inability to address the line, his inability to acquire any impact players recently with the most cap room in the NFL, and his success through the draft is hovering around 43%. which is miserable when that is your primary focus!
