PERFECT MESS

Yep we were at the game, in a really weird twist I sat next to a guy in “knock off” Judas Favre t-shirt and a guy two rows in front of me had a Favre shirt turned into a 41 Havner jersey.

Pictures and stories (from what we remember) from the game will follow soon (Leroy and Henderson both signed by Judas Jersey.)

Weird, weird vibe all around.

picture-perfect-sunset

Which is why we believe this was the perfect mess.

We all got our chance to rain boos down on Brett finally.   And yes it felt good.  I have never heard such loud booing again and again.  Like ripping the soul out of 16 years.  And it was Brett’s fault.

And in this perfect mess, Brett got his revenge kicking his old teams arse, not once but twice.  And it was the Packer’s fault.

Also making this mess perfect is the fact that Vikings fans have to realize their 1 loss record is a bit tarnished as well.  The Packers (who let’s face it are not good right now) almost beat them.  But, in a perfect sense, they did not.  And the Vikings got to feel what we felt for 16 years, dominating the Vikings.

Perfectly as well, Packer fans (as bad as the Packers look) still have hope.   4-3 is not the end of the world, we have the world’s youngest team and we are still getting used to the defense.  A-rodge is a bona fide stud.  So all is not lost either.

Sometimes the messier things get the clearer the water becomes.  Life is strange like that.

We are still selling shirtsl like wild fire, so thanks for the orders.  And keep the comments coming we enjoy that too.

Woodson said it best: “this is who we are. We beat bad teams and lose to good teams.”

A-rodge is a bona fide stud??? Y, cause he was able to put the title belt on and fire the guns?? A-rodge is nothing more than a stat whore. Have fun with a QB that will put up great numbers and never win the big game. This guy is willing to take sacks like there is no tomorrow so that he will have less incompletions. YOu cannot argue that. On at least 3 of those sacks he had over 4 seconds to throw, then another second to get rid of it out of bounds. (however, he did say after the last Vikings game that this is how he plays and he will not change)….great attitude to have as a 2nd year starter

And your boy Butler he said it as well: ‘I just don’t want Aaron to become a stat guy, leading in all these areas but not having won anything. We have too many of those quarterbacks. You have to win the big game.’

Keep telling yourself that the Packers almost beat them. I heard that same shit last game. I love hearing, “well if we would have played the first half like the second we would have won” well no shit you might have but you didnt.

Please, no more excuses for this team. They suck on special teams, this great 3-4 defense is getting torn apart by good teams and the offense is way too inconsistent. For gods sake they have Ahman Green returning kicks, he was TERRIBLE. Oh yeah, Crosby sucks too. Absolutely pathetic the way they started the game, less than 50 yards at half, that is all COACHING! McCarthy said on Friday, “oh yeah, we are more than ready for this game.” Well idiot, obviously you were not prepared because Favre did the same thing to your lousy defense that he did the first game. Which btw, they said all of their defensive efforts were focused on stopping Favre during the week.

    Nice game….good talks.

    AAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA

“Change” couldn’t have said it any better. McCarthy and TT can suck it. They have made some of the HUGEST mistakes in acquiring and letting go of talent of ANY team over the last 6 years. At least if Childress isn’t the best on-field coach, no-one can argue his recognizing talent in the draft and free agency, and now he doesn’t have to micro-manage the offense during games since we have this guy named Brett that can run the offense without childress’ input. Wow GB, way to let your best QB EVER and the highest scorer in your history (longwell) go to one of your hated rivals. Your season is in all respects probably over. It will be extrememly hard for you to make the playoffs now with some of the other teams in the NFC being better than your team, and having a softer schedule to boot…tsk tsk. I wonder how TT and MM think their egos match up against Favre now? Maybe they shouldn’t have got into that pizzing contest with him 2 years ago and swallowed their pride to keep him there. A-Rodge will NEVER be the big-game winner, stats are stats, and wins are wins. He looked utterly SCARED the first half of that game, while Favre looked lucy goosey as always. It’s all about the pressure and how you handle it, Arodge will never have the the nerve of Favre.

    TT, MM, you are FOOLS!

To all the packer fans, I find it very ironic that a guy that put as much passion into the game as Brett Favre for your team for 16 seasons and never missed a game due to injury, admitted his pain medication addiction Two superbowl apperances, one superbowl victory, and countless games that he won, kept close, or just plain showed his passion for the game…. he even has a street named after him next to your stadium, and the “disrespect” you all showed him during the game… I have watched Brett win many games as a Packer and as far as I was concerned I had a love hate relationship with him…. I hated to watch him play against my purple and gold, but I loved to watch the passion he played the game with… I am so happy that your coach and GM gave up on Favre and he had the chance to continue playing the game HE loves, even better he now plays for the team I love. Did the Edmonton Oiler fans boo Wayne Gretzky when he came back to Edmonton after he was traded to the Kings….no, did 49er fans boo Joe Montana after he was traded to the Chiefs…no, Did we as Viking fans boo Randy Moss, Daunte Culpepper, John Randle, or even Kevin Garnett…no, as a matter of fact I think I cheered for KG to win a championship with the Celtics. My point is you want you cake and to eat it too… you should be happy that you had 16 years with Favre on your side and only one season…. hopefully one more, when he was against you. I am a Vikings fan… and more importantly I am a football fan, I think it was great watching your “hero” stick it to you… and believe me, he was did stick it to you… twice!!! P.S. I hope you win enough games to make it to the playoffs…. so he can stick it to you again!!!

I did not write that last post. I pasted it from NFL.com. I am sorry about that but I feel like it said basically everything I felt. Packers fans are despicable, at least some of them are, and this game proved it! Thanks for the memories, Brett, we’ve now hired a complete $hitbag as GM and so now we all hate you because you were honest…..so we’ll take it out on YOU! That’s what you guys are saying with all of this ‘traitor’ b$…..good luck riding your dead dumbass horse TT into…..oblivion.

Here come the trolls, WHY ARE YOU HERE IF YOU AREN”T PACKER FANS?
You must have a mental disorder your perents didn’t tell you about.
WE DON”T CARE-favre is a queen, and so are you. Go to your doll and inflate.

  • DJ

    BIGHEART
You are the dumbest person I ever met,do you know how to read?
You are NOT a Packer fan, that I know.
GO BACK TO YOUR INFLAITABLE DOLL

  • Stevegoat

I said i wont post, but did someone really just bring up a kicker? Really SKOL Viking? A kicker? Leave it to a Viking fan to bring a kicker into this saga. STFU. Keep celebrating your 7-1 record, maybe the NFL will make a special half season victory trophy for you. Oh wait, you dont even have the best record…..well your used to second place.

Bigheartedleo. None of the players you cut and pasted RETIRED numerous times and orchestrated their way out of the place they called home. Until you see that, you will never understand the fans’ point of view. The douche you cut and pasted is obviously a Viking fan and is butt hurt that his new idol was boooooooed. What the hell did people expect? He lied and slimed his way out of GB. People arent so pissed that he went to the Vikings, its how he went about it. His “disrespect” is 10 times worse than the booos he heard. He knew it was coming because he knows he was/is a dick…..he just doesnt care.

And can someone please tell me what the hell SKOL means? I know its a Viking thing, but what does it mean?

Im gone for real this time…..unless some idiot Viking fan brings up a kicker again. I cant continue these circular discussions.

If someone wants to talk X’s and O’s lets go, But Favre drama is done…..thank the good lord. He got his revenge, good for him. I hope it was worth it when he is 80 and his name is eternally tied to this drama and retirement joke because he couldnt be a man and just say what he wanted.

    Let me ask one question
Would you give up your child for a million $$$$

    Trolls will, over favre!

  • Stevegoat

I just cant let SKOAL get away with his stupid post.

“while Favre looked lucy goosey as always”

As a Viking fan…….i want you to think long and hard about this……ill give you time because I know your slow. Here goes. Did Favre always look “lucy goosey” against your team? Come on now, think hard. HELL NO!! HE played like $hit against the Vikings all the freaking time. Did you see him against your team? Did you see him have John Randle force int after int? Did you see his performance in Randy Moss’ first year? Did you see the playoff performance against your crap 8-8 team? How quickly you forget once you put the #4 glasses on.

Do not ever say Favre has always been calm and “lucy goosey”. How did he play against the Cowboys all those years? I was there, in Dallas, in ‘07, and witnessed quite possibly the worst start to a game I have ever seen. I saw Favre spraying the ball all over the field and look like a deer in the headlights. Only because he got hurt, and could not continue, did the game even take on any semblance of a contest.

Get a clue Vikings’ fans, Favre is up and down more than any QB in history. Right now your up…………get ready for the down, because it sucks.

Mike McCarthy and Teddy T suck, but not at all because of the Favre drama.

  • Skol Vikings

Skol (written skål in Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish, and sometimes “Skoal” in English) is the Danish/Norwegian/Swedish word for a salute or a toast, as to an admired person or group. The meaning of the Scandinavian skalli/skalle: skal means simply “shell” and skál/skål “bowl”. There is a popular misconception that the toast comes from the mythical habit of Vikings to drink from cups made from the skulls of their defeated enemies.

“Skol Vikings” is the Minnesota Vikings fight-song.

And just to add to you disbelief in me mentioning kickers…how do you ever let go of a kicker named “LONGWELL”, I mean, sheesh, unless of course you pick up someone named Dakickisgud or somethong similar….hee hee. My point was that TT and MM have really fuxxed up when deciding who to let go and who to pick up over the last 4 years.

Favre is, was, and always shall be remembered for waffling,..but it was TT and MM’s final decision to let him go, and those idiots thought their ego’s were more important than his,..puh leeeaase. Oh, and good days or bad, BF is still better than what we HAD at QB. And I think it is primarily the fear of what the Vikes had to offer with Favre at QB that brings out the bulk of this anger from Packer Fans. Had he gone to Detroit, I think this would be a non-issue…lol, but I don’t think he would have played another year unless it was with GB or a team that had chances to go deep into the playoffs, it only makes sense.

Best comments of the day: “if Percy Harvin was a Packer, Packers would have won” “if the Packers had the Vikings o-line, Packers would have won” “if peterson was a Packer, Packers would have won”

These are comments that came from Packer fans and from ESPN radio (not callers).

    Classic…………….

George Young,(NYG) on hireing the big Tuna back, said it best, you never let a guy quit on you twice.

  • MFA

Can someone explain to me when Favre retired from the Packers twice? Or when people say this are they saying the Packers once and the Jets once?

  • cc

    MFA,
The only retirements I am aware of were 1 with the Pack and 1 with the Jets. Some on this site will tell you Favre has retired 5 times… This season thus far is proving Favre should have moved on probably the year after TT and crew came to town. The way it sounds up in GB this week, there are some big players for the Pack that are trying to get a ticket on that next train out of GB!

  • cc

DJ, WHY ARE WE HERE ON A SITE THAT HARBORS PACKER ENTHUSIASTS AND SYMPATHIZERS? It is too much fun and aren’t blogs intended to encourage arguments?
What is your deal with inflatable objects, trolls, dolls, and such? Can you discuss the deficiencies of the Packer organization or not?

  • 40 yard jumpshot

We have a whole 2nd half of the year left.

Packers Fans will remember this. Favre wanted Marriucci as the coach and TT said no. Could you have imagined if we had Marriucci as the coach. It would be the second coming of Mike Sherman (who I blame for half of Favre’s problems) letting Favre do whatever he wanted.

Someone let me know if TT did not go to Miss. personally and asked Favre to come back? TT begged Favre to come back on more then one occasion when he was hired as the GM. He even went down there after Favre retired. Favre said he wasn’t coming back….you can only put up with that for so long.

  • cc

I won’t discount any of that as I don’t believe anyone aside from a couple people really know all the details. I’m a Favre fan and I’ll go ahead and say I believe Favre was sick of TT’s philosophy and wanted out. I have no problem with that, and at the end of the day, everyone got what they wanted. It’s just working out better for Favre than TT right now. The Favre saga is not the demise of TT as much as the other failures. For example, the inability to address the line, his inability to acquire any impact players recently with the most cap room in the NFL, and his success through the draft is hovering around 43%. which is miserable when that is your primary focus! He better get control of his own locker room “schism” before there are more players than Brett Favre heading out on the next train (Kampmann and Woodson)

TO ALL YOU NAYSAYERS AND DISRESPECTFUL PACKER FANS: I CAME ON YOUR WEBSITE (GOD FORBID) IN SEPTEMBER AND TRIED TO RELAY TO ALL OF YOU ABOUT BEING GOOD SPORTS. WELL, YOU HAVE AGAIN SHOWN THE WORLD JUST HOW BAD YOU CAN BE. THE BOOING AND CRUEL JOKES (?) WERE UNCALLED FOR. YOU SHOULD HAVE CHEERED BRETT FARVE FOR THE 16 GREAT YRS. HE’S GIVEN ON AND OFF LAMBEAU FIELD. HE IS A CLASS ACT AND STILL REMAINS ONE OF THE GREATEST QB’S EVER, AND WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS SUCH. YOU HAVE SIGNIFICANTLY PROVED MY POINT OF HAVING NO CLASS AT ALL. SEEMS LIKE “WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND”. BRETT GOT WHAT HE DESERVED (2 WINS OFF OF GREEN BAY), AND YOU GOT YOUR RETRIBUTION OF LOSING
